On April 9th, 2024, the Native Climate team organized a pre-conference workshop at the Extension Risk Management Education National Conference in Salt Lake City, UT. The workshop, titled “All Climate is Local: Unlocking Climate Data,” included presentations on the climate outlook for the US (Kyle Bocinsky), lessons learned from the past to protect the future (Vicki Hebb/Trent Teegerstrom), an overview of the USDA Climate Hubs (Lee Schmeltzer/Dannele Peck), highlights of climate projects (Maureen McCarthy/Jo Ann Warner) and more. Conference participants joined in interactive discussions about climate-weather issues impacting agriculture and agricultural communities and how to help farmers and ranchers access, use and share climate data.
